With a fervent desire to honour Abby; my first idea was to incorporate Frida Khalo, as we have both long been intrigued by the enigmatic and socially-minded artist. With that, I started daydreaming and wondered if we might also be able to incorporate Abby’s Métis lineage, which I felt so seamlessly tied into everything I admire about both Abby AND Frida.

And so, today, I am excited to begin a short series wherein I describe some of the thought that went into each piece of my Worthy Imposters Collection; I invite you to follow along over the coming weeks.

I love how - when you talk with someone - you can uncover how, even if varied, their career choices are so often a prism within which lay their inherent passions + truths.

…let us all go forth and ‘commit acts of immeasurable profundity’, for every small gesture of kindness has the capacity to change our world.

As I pondered when + where + how to share it, I realized the serendipitous nature of it all and KNEW that the Mother’s Day wishes I’d planned to send out to you should include this unveiling… honouring the woman who gave me life, whom we lost way too soon, and from whose life + memory I derive such inspiration. I love you Mom, and I will forever + deeply appreciate you + your example.

With Spring comes one of life’s wonderful milestones: GRADUATION! Whether it’s moving from jr high to high school, graduation from high school, or convocating with a degree… celebrate this pivotal occasion (and gown 😉) with portraits!

Bigger and deeper breaths, a broader perspective in my work, and an intentionally abundant mindset. In 2024, I plan to allow - nay, CREATE - the space + attention to further build on my existing offerings, develop new ones, and to be more fluid in saying ‘yes’…more colouring ‘outside the lines’ 😉! I’m also cognizant that recently, on a day mid-December, I became the exact age that my mom was when she was diagnosed with breast cancer…
